Government Contracts Guide

SAICORP recognises the positive approach adopted by many agencies to managing risk exposures associated with contracting, particularly the issues of insurance and capping of liability. However, it is obvious that, despite the best endeavours of many to provide a workable system, the present approach has at times proven complex, difficult to work with, and generally not been considered "user friendly'.

In an effort to provide a balance between, on the one hand, a technically correct, but difficult to adhere to system and, on the other, one which is "user friendly", SAICORP has produced its publication "Government Contracts A Guide to the Insurance and Liability Issues".

This guide is designed to assist your agency in respect of the majority of contracts involving both contractors and consultants. It does not apply to leasing and property matters.

Please note that this guide is currently being updated to reflect changes to the Governments Limitation of Liability Guidelines and Tort Law Reform.
