SAFA continues to support the South Australian Tourism Commission in the administration of the Tourism Industry Development Fund (TIDF).
More tourism business operators will be receiving grants, giving regional areas financial support to create new jobs, develop skills and maintain tourism experiences in the regions.
The TIDF was set up to create jobs and provide an economic boost for an industry hit hard by COVID-19 and devastating bushfires.
There are projects from all 11 tourism regions varying in scale and streams. This round sees the development of new and refurbished accommodation, planes refurbishment and the development of electric cart tours, showing how varied the tourism industry is and how this fund is assisting operators in different ways.
There are now 42 projects worth over $25 million and over $6.6 million in TIDF grant funding awarded, creating nearly 700 jobs to date.
SAFA has been working closely with the South Australian Tourism Commission. SAFA has expertise in commercial advisory services providing financial reviews, due diligence and drafting and managing contracts.
The $20 million TIDF grant fund runs until 31 March 2022 or until all funds have been allocated.
A listing of the successful grant recipients is available on the media release.
