SAFA is supporting the SA Tourism Commission in the administration of the $20 million Tourism Industry Development Fund to create jobs and provide an economic boost for an industry hit hard by COVID-19 and last summer’s devastating bushfires.
Nearly $9 million of investment in regional tourism in South Australia will be unlocked, with the first round of grants from the Tourism Industry Development Fund.
The $1.8m in grants approved so far will go to projects right across the state, helping attract more visitors to our world-class regions, who will stay longer and spend more – building industry capability and creating nearly 350 jobs.
Projects to be delivered include new accommodation in the Adelaide Hills, Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas, a new cellar door in the Barossa and Fleurieu Peninsula and the relocation and refurbishment of a café on Kangaroo Island.
