Lost or Stolen Registration Plates
Where a SAFA leased vehicle registration plates are lost or stolen, a report must be made to the Police and your agency Fleet Manager advised as soon as possible or within 24 hours.
An Accident/incident claim form is not required to be completed unless the SAFA leased vehicle has sustained additional damages.
Your Fleet Manager will be required to provide the Police Report number to LeasePlan to commence the Lost or Stolen replacement plate process.
Please ensure the vehicle is taken off the road until your new registration plates arrive at your premises.
Once the new registration plates are received they must be fitted as soon as practically possible. The vehicle is not to be driven until the new registration plates are fitted to avoid an infringement for displaying no registration plates or a cancelled registration.
Replacement fuel cards will be arranged through LeasePlan and should arrive within the next 5 - 7 business days.
